Speaker Laptop

I used to have a little icon to change the volume of the laptop. Disappeared. How to return?

Icon has been in the bottom right corner of the screen. Clicking on a volume bar appeared and I could easily change the volume.

I have XP .. then ... you click the Start button, select Control Panel / Sounds and Audio Devices Select ... ... then check the box that says "Place volume icon in the taskbar."
